Description

#35392 New port: devel/ninja (build system) ryandesign@… submission Normal ports
Description

Attached is a Portfile for http://martine.github.com/ninja/

They use date of release as version number. I was unable to convince them to change this¹, and I see a few other ports do stray from the major.minor.patch so I hope this is OK (better to use their version scheme than introduce parallel versioning).

The Portfile uses git as fetch.type as they don’t provide distribution archives other than those automatically generated by GitHub, but I don’t believe these work well with port (because the archive contain a folder that doesn’t match the archive name).

Please find attached virtualbox-port-4.0.4.tgz, which is a submission for the open source edition of VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/). I have a high degree of confidence that this port will build out-of-the-box for others. It if does, this submission would also close ticket #23080.

Note that there's an unusual aspect to this port, which is installation and loading of kernel modules. This requires installation of files outside of standard MacPorts locations, namely /Library/Extensions and /Library/StartupItems.

#34713 New port, ess, for the Emacs Speaks Statistics package macports-tickets@… submission Normal ports
Description

Attached is a Portfile for a new port, ess, for the Emacs Speaks Statistics (ESS) package. ESS is a collection of modes for statistical programming and data analysis with support for R, SAS, Stata, and many other packages. I hope you'll consider adding it to MacPorts.

The default variant works with the emacs port and there is an emacs_app variant for cases where emacs-app is the default Emacs. (I followed the auctex port in choosing the name of the variant, with regards to the underscore instead of a hyphen.) Both variants appear to be working well on my machine.

This is my first attempt at creating a Portfile, so please either let me know (or feel free to modify it as needed) if anything seems unusual or non-standard about it.

#26898 New portfile for KDE4 version of filelight macports-tickets@… submission Normal ports
Description

Hi,

I've made a KDE4 portfile for the filelight application. In order to distinguish it from the KDE3 version it is called 'filelight4'. The Portfile, and a patch to fix the icon is available here

http://www.hep.phy.cam.ac.uk/~jonesc/filelight4

It works fine, for me.

One minor issue is I haven't been able to find a tarball on the web that can be downloaded during installation, so placed my own on the same server as above. Don't know if this is acceptable or not... Maybe you have a macports server that a copy could be placed on instead ?

Anyway, I made this a while back but thought I would submit it incase it is of enough interest to others to get included....
