#31916 zsh @4.2.7_1 request to update port macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by nonstop.server@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Request to update port zsh @4.2.7 revision 1 to the latest version of zsh.
Changes since version 4.2.7 are:

2011-05-31 : Release 4.3.12
Improved error handling in POSIX emulation, ${NAME:OFFSET:LENGTH} syntax supports negative LENGTHs,
new parameter expansion flag (g:opts:) which escapes sequences like the echo and print builtins,
the region_highlight array is now updated dynamically as the command line is edited and the
zsh/parameter module has a new array $usergroups which contains the names of system groups.

2010-12-20 : Release 4.3.11
Improved parameter expansion (${NAME:OFFSET} and ${NAME:OFFSET:LENGTH} for substrings and subarrays,
(D) abbreviated directories, (Z) enhanced (z), {3..9..2} step in brace expansion, (P) adds word
before each match), additional styles for zle_highlight ('suffix' for trailing /, 'special' for
invalid multibyte chars), new option HIST_LEX_WORDS to perform "correct" splitting of history
lines (not only on whitespace), multiple new POSIX_ options to improve POSIX compliance and
an improved SUN_KEYBOARD_HACK which is now called KEYBOARD_HACK.

2009-06-01 : Release 4.3.10
Bug fixes and some minor improvements.

2008-11-03 : Release 4.3.9
Improved multibyte support on MacOS, updated prompt system and better debug support.

2008-04-02 : Release 4.3.6
Contains mostly bug fixes, but there are some small improvements. No incompatibilities with previous
versions are known.

#31922 py27-SRPAstro macports-tickets@… submission Normal ports

Reported by stefano.covino@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Dear friends,

I am the authors of this application: http://pypi.python.org/pypi/SRPAstro/3.10.2. It is formed by a set of "scriptable" tools to manage a variety of practical problems during daily life in an astronomical institute. I already install it making a profitable use of "macports", now I wonder whether it could be the case to distribute it as a true "macports" package.

#31923 pypy @1.6 fails to build using macport and apple python27 jmr@… defect Normal ports

Reported by lists.pascal.juergens@…, 2 years ago.

Description

I can't get pypy to compile with either macport's python27 or even using apple's python27.

This might be the same issue as in ticket:30031 , however the exception line numbers are slightly off so I'm posting this as new.

The build error is:

This happens with both python Versions (apple's 2.7.1 and macport's python27 @2.7.2).

My error log is: http://pastebin.com/Ewn3pPuG

My installed packages: http://pastebin.com/eccMMbd4

There don't appear to be any ports with a dependency on py-matplotlib-basemap, so the problem is just if a user tries to install py-matplotlib-basemap directly. This should be fixed by restricting the port's post-destroot block to when ${name} != ${subport}.

Also, the livecheck should be restricted to when ${name} == ${subport}.

#31933 sshfs depends upon openssh dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by burdges@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Apple has modified their ssh's behavior enough that installing macports' openssh breaks various now expected behaviors for the user interface, like using a gui askpass. I'd therefore recommend not forcing people to install the openssh package except when absolutely necessary.

It appears that sshfs compiles and runs fine after simply removing the port:openssh library dependency from .../ports/fuse/sshfs/Portfile. I'd therefore recommend that this modification.

#31942 py*-subvertpy: update to 0.8.9 macports-tickets@… update Normal ports
#31943 hgsubversion: fix naming and dependencies titus@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macports.org@…, 2 years ago.

Description

hgsubversion is currently called py26-hgsubversion and depends on:

  • mercurial
  • python26
  • subversion-python26bindings

This is troublesome, because mercurial's python dependency was changed to 2.7, meaning hgsubversion now needs subversion-python27bindings (or py27-subvertpy both will work) and does *not* need either python26 or subversion-python26bindings, but this is not handled by macports and will instead break at runtime:

> hg clone http://fbug.googlecode.com/svn/
destination directory: svn
abort: no compatible bindings available:

Subversion 1.5.0 or later required, but no bindings were found
Subvertpy 0.7.4 or later required, but not found

Please install either Subvertpy or the Subversion Python SWIG bindings!
  • The direct Python dependency should be removed from hgsubversion (hgsubversion gets it transitively via the dependency on mercurial)
  • hgsubversion should depend on "the subversion-python*bindings corresponding to hg's Python dependency" if it's possible to express such a complex dependency
  • A variant should be added replacing the dependency on subversion-python*bindings by a dependency on py*-subvertpy

#31948 apple-gcc42: change behavior of the -isysroot option royliu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by royliu@…, 2 years ago.

Description

When attempting to compile a port like virtualbox with the MacPorts apple-gcc42 compiler, strange errors like this occur:

/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/usr/include/stdarg.h:4:25: error: stdarg.h: No such file or directory

After further investigation, this is because the -isysroot option is set. Recall that doing so will cause the search for the compiler's own headers to occur in directories like (in the case of Xcode's own llvm-gcc-4.2):

/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/Developer/usr/llvm-gcc-4.2/lib/gcc/i686-apple-darwin11/4.2.1/include

Since we installed a MacPorts-based compiler, it will search in

/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.6.sdk/Developer/opt/local/lib/apple-gcc42/gcc/i686-apple-darwin11/4.2.1/include

Such a directory clearly doesn't exist, and this causes the apple-gcc42 compiler to not find headers like stdarg.h. The attached patch prevents prepending of the SDK root to the compiler's own search paths. I believe that this is a reasonable "fix" to the problem because:

  1. MacPorts doesn't put a bunch of compiler-specific stuff into the SDK directories themselves.
  2. The patch is essentially saying "Regardless of the SDK, I want to use a common set of compiler headers".

Again, this is not a bug, but more of a change tailor-made for the way that MacPorts distributes packages.

#31965 mercurial @1.9.3_0 SNI not supported? deric@… defect Normal ports

Reported by m@…, 2 years ago.

Description

It seems that port mercurial @1.9.3_0 does not support SNI (Server Name Indication) properly.

When hg connects to a server that hosts multiple virtual hosts with individual SSL certificates, it takes the first certificate always (thus, the certificate from the host that serves https://IP/).

In my ~\.hgrc I defined fingerprint F_B for server S_B. However, hg complains about an invalid certificate with fingerprint F_A. This fingerprint F_A belongs to server S_A, and not to S_B; thus, mercurial chooses the wrong certificate. As soon as I change the fingerprint of S_B to F_A (thus, an actually wrong one) in ~\.hgrc, it will work.

#31974 A new port: OIS v1.3 + Cocoa 64-bit patches ryandesign@… submission Normal ports

Reported by marin.saric@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Hello,

I converted OIS (the Object-Oriented Input System) to MacPorts. The vanilla version of OIS v1.3 in sourceforge is near useless in MacOS X -- it cannot compile on 64-bit. A major user of OIS is OGRE, a very big and very popular 3D graphics library. An OGRE developer submitted a patch to the OIS project enabling OIS to compile on MacOS X under 64-bit.

The patch has been distilled into per-file patches per MacPorts guidelines. I have verified that OIS operates correctly. The provided demo application does not work in 64-bit since it does not implement Cocoa calls, but the library itself works well in both 32-bit and 64-bit.

#31984 elinks-devel @0.12pre5_1 Segmentation fault on Lion with boehmgc macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by brent@…, 2 years ago.

Description

On Lion 10.7.2 with Xcode 4.1, doing "port install elinks-devel": The port builds and installs, but immediately segfaults when run. This same port and version works fine on my other Mac, Leopard 10.5.8 with Xcode 3.1.3.

I tried using the different compilers as noted on the ProblemHotlist page, but it didn't make a difference (note that the Portfile overrides one of these compiler choices).

Workaround: The Portfile requires the boehmgc port, and adds "--with-gc" to configure.args; when I change that to "--without-gc" in the Portfile, then elinks works fine.

#31987 netpbm install tries to fetch nonexistent file macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by nathmclean@…, 2 years ago.

Description

I am trying to install netpbm through macports, however it fails with the message:

Error: Target org.macports.fetch returned: Subversion check out failed

After inspecting the log file (attached) it seems to me the problem lies in that mac ports is trying to fetch the file: netpbm-10.47.31_0.darwin_10.x86_64.tgz from http://packages.macports.org/netpbm/ and gets a 404 error

The actual file at that location is a different type of archive, using the file extension tbz2.

I am new to using MacPorts and I was wondering if there is any quick and dirty way to change the archive MacPorts looks for when I type the command "port install netpbm"

I have just updated MacPorts definitions using "port selfupdate" so it seems to me that this is a bug.

Thanks in advance!

#31988 libiconv doesn't seem to work on x86_64 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

The only way I could get trunk gcc to build was by downloading libiconv source and installing it under /usr/local as follows:

#31990 New port: ncdc ryandesign@… submission Normal ports

Reported by projects@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Attached is the Portfile for ncdc.

I'm afraid I don't have an OS X system myself, so it's a bit hard to test. However, I have received a report that this port works fine on OS X 10.7. I also know that it *doesn't* work on 10.5 because ncdc relies on a later POSIX extension for realpath(), which, from a bit of googling, should have been added in OS X 10.6. So things should work there as well.

#31991 digikam, objectmarker, frei0r-plugins, auto-multiple-choice need revbump following opencv 2.3.x update ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by johannes@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Hi, when upgrading all the outdated ports, the upgrade of opencv fails because

Error: opencv 2.3.1a cannot be built while opencv 2.2.0 is installed and active.
Error: Please deactivate opencv 2.2.0 first.

I attach the log for info.

When I manually deactivate opencv and then install the latest version digikam won't start anymore. So there seems to be some inconsistency.

#31994 pwman: lion - compiler fix macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by mni@…, 2 years ago.

Description

pwman cant compile on a clean-install Lion.

Compilers clang and llvm-gcc refuses to build it, due to frequent use of 'casual return' :)

I have looked for compiler options to allow this, but was unable to find any. So I see no other way than to depend on the apple-gcc42 macport.

Attached is the Portfile-patch with this dependency - and it works fine.

#31995 tcl: enable CoreFoundation mww@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by marshall.perrin@…, 2 years ago.

Description

This patch adds a new variant +corefoundation to tcl, which enables building with CoreFoundation support. This is related to the outstanding ticket #22954, which has a patch file to enable CoreFoundation but not as a variant. That solution was never merged into the tcl port, which means that the problem described in #22954 reoccurs with every update to the tcl port (e.g. I just had to re-patch the portfile for the Nth time due to the upgrade to 8.5.11 today).

Creating a variant for corefoundation will fix this problem once and for all.

#31996 py-ipython: pylab tcl can't find correct tk version akitada@… defect Normal ports

Reported by marshall.perrin@…, 2 years ago.

Description

I'm trying to run ipython with the TkAgg backend, and I immediately get an error upon startup about its not being able to find the correct tk version (and yet that version is indeed installed).

The key error message is `/opt/local/lib/tk8.5/tk.tcl: version conflict for package "Tk": have 8.5.7, need exactly 8.5.11 version conflict for package "Tk": have 8.5.7, need exactly 8.5.11`. This used to work perfectly on this machine with Tcl 8.5.9 & earlier but has apparently been broken during recent version upgrades? Running wish appears to work fine (starts up with no error message), but starting ipython and trying to access any Tk widgets fails this way:

Based on the distfiles directory, I presume auto-multiple-choice should be updated to 0.514.

The livecheck should also be fixed:

Here's a patch that does both. May I commit it?

I tried both my macs I am getting exactly the same error , both having Lion installed and of course the latest Xcode

Tried this

sudo port clean protobuf-python26
sudo port install protobuf-python26 configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2

and this

sudo port clean protobuf-python26
sudo port install apple-gcc42
sudo port install protobuf-python26 configure.compiler=apple-gcc-4.2 configure.cxx=g++-apple-4.2

still the same error

another use that tries the same thing but from snow leopard does not have this issue

#32012 squid @2.7.STABLE9: add SSL/TLS support jmr@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by scott@…, 2 years ago.

Description

In trying to use squid as a reverse SSL proxy, it appears that it needs to be compiled with the --enable-ssl option. I was able to make that change myself to the local Portfile, such that diff reports:

hq:squid root# diff Portfile Portfile.orig
47,48c47
< configure.args --enable-ssl \
< --with-pthreads \
---
> configure.args --with-pthreads \

Once I did this, did a "port uninstall squid" then redid a "port install squid", I was successfully able to call "squid -z" to create the swap files, where previously I would receive an error something like "unknown token: https_port".

Here's (roughly) what I use in squid.conf

  ## Reverse Proxy Configuration.
  https_port 8080 cert=/path/to/cert key=/path/to/key defaultsite=my.site.com vhost
  cache_peer 127.0.0.1 parent 9999 0 no-query originserver ssl login=PASS name=my
  acl sites_server_1 dstdomain my.site.com
  cache_peer_access my allow sites_server_1

So, based on that, seems like it should be a part of the configure.args. First time creating a ticket here, please forgive likely ignorance in the ticket process.

#32013 gmic 1.5.0.6 update assemlal@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Here's a patch updating gmic to 1.5.0.6.

I also disabled the parallel build, since gmic's build uses so much memory per job that at least my machine ran out of real memory and spent a lot of time hitting the swap space on disk.

Does this look ok to commit? It builds for me on Snow Leopard with Xcode 3.2.6.

#32023 frei0r-plugins fails to build dan@… defect Normal ports

Reported by hobbsilla@…, 2 years ago.

Description

I'm running Macports 2.0.3 on Lion 10.7.2 on a Macbook Pro 5,5 trying to build kdenlive and it breaks at frei0r-plugins. Attached is the log file. I normally have an easier time spotting what the error is but I am not able to make sense of it.

#32024 eventlog: update to 0.2.12 markd@… update Normal ports

Reported by czanik@…, 2 years ago.

Description

Please update "eventlog" to the latest version. It's a prerequisite to update syslog-ng.

It only adds a few extra debug functions, used by recent syslog-ng versions. AFAIK, only syslog-ng uses this port, earlier syslog-ng versions run fine with the new eventlog version.

Trivial patch attached.

I would appreciate if someone could help me with this problem

#32026 freshmeat is now freecode macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal MacPorts 2.1.0 base

Reported by ryandesign@…, 2 years ago.

Description

freshmeat has been renamed freecode. We should rename/update our default livecheck. There appear to be changes needed in base (src/port1.0/portlivecheck.tcl, doc/portfile.7, portmgr/ReleaseProcess), in dports (_resources/port1.0/livecheck/freshmeat.tcl, _resources/port1.0/livecheck/fallback.tcl, and many ports), and in the guide (doc-new/guide/xml/portfile-livecheck.xml).

Note: See TracQuery for help on using queries.
