#36309 Error: org.macports.install for port python27 returned: no destroot found jwa@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jls106@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I'm having the same problem as reported in Ticket #35850 (not yet resolved). I have a new Mac (Lion 10.7.5) to which I migrated my old system contents. I then installed Xcode 4.5 and downloaded the latest Macport .dmg for Lion. I then used xcode-select to link the two. But the functionality of commands was not good. So I tried to upgrade and install, but often I get:

--->  Installing python27 @2.7.3_0
Error: org.macports.install for port python27 returned: no destroot found at: /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_python27/python27/work/destroot
Error: Failed to install python27

I cleaned python. And tried to reinstall. I get the same error. Then I uninstalled macport entirely and reinstalled it. Still the same problem.

I've attached the error log.

Thanks, Jeff

#36310 mailsync @5.2.1: configure fails to find pam on 10.6+ macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by mtb19@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I have a local, single-user installation of MacPorts (in "${HOME}/ports/..."). The reason I have a local, single-user installation is because I do not have root privileges on that particular machine.

I recently tried to perform a "port install mailsync" and found that configuration failed (the specific error is "a working c-client installation is required for building mailsync").

Here is the result:

% port install mailsync

#36311 arb broken by libpng15 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by matt.cottrell@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The attached patches are a short term fix for the arb port which was broken by the upgrade to libpng15

An arb user brought this to my attention with Ticket #36271.

I have contacted the upstream developer about updating arb to libpng15 compatibility.

#36312 Update: mdbtools-0.7 and.damore@… update Normal ports

0.7 is released by the original developer who has moved his work from Sourceforge to Github.

#36313 Missing installed header file raimue@… defect Normal ports

Reported by smirolo@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When you include /opt/local/include/elftoolchain/libdwarf.h header, the compiler tries to include transitively elfdefinitions.h which is missing.

I used the following workaround for now:

$ port fetch elftoolchain
$ tar jxvf /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/elftoolchain/elftoolchain-0.5.1.tar.bz2
$ find elftoolchain-0.5.1 -name 'elfdefinitions.h'
$ sudo install elftoolchain-0.5.1/common/elfdefinitions.h /opt/local/include/elftoolchain

#36315 Switch from ui_msg to notes in postgresql server installs mww@… defect Normal ports

Reported by singingwolfboy@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The post-install "ui_msg" lines in the postgresql92-server port (and other postgresql server ports) are very useful, but easy to lose in a scrollback. Can we switch this to using "notes" instead, so that users can pull them back up by running port notes postgresql92-server? I've attached a patch as an example; there's no reason why a similar patch can't be applied to other ports, as well.

#36316 splash @2.1.1 +hdf5 - build failure macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by daniel.price@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi folks,

I discovered an issue with the splash Portfile for the hdf5 variant (fails to build)

Essentially, should depend on hdf5-18 not hdf5

Portfile.diff that fixes this attached

Only thing I'm not sure of is whether I need to bump a revision number if only the Portfile has changed?

Cheers,

Daniel

#36320 vxl: build failure with libpng 1.5 wiking@… defect Normal ports

Reported by boker@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I am unable to install vxl on the latest 10.8.2 with xcode 4.5. Have tried all the usual tricks, including

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port clean vxl
sudo port upgrade outdated
sudo port install vxl configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2

and the same setup with

sudo port install vxl configure.compiler=apple-gcc-4.2

I even tried completely removing macports (rm -rf /opt/local and the all the rest) and reinstalling everything (MacPorts-2.1.2-10.8-MountainLion.pkg) from scratch.

No matter what I've tried I get the same error and logfile ends up the same.

The logfile from the fresh install from the file is appended. The only commands after the fresh install are:

#36321 Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by diogowbrito@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hello,

I've successfully installed glib2 trough MacPorts but can't still compile my program.

Installed, as seen:

sudo port install glib2
--->  Computing dependencies for glib2
--->  Cleaning glib2
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0%
--->  No broken files found.

sudo port install pkgconfig
--->  Cleaning pkgconfig
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0%
--->  No broken files found.

And compiling...

eg:

gcc -o main main.c `pkg-config --libs --cflags glib-2.0`
Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `glib-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'glib-2.0' found
main.c:17:18: error: glib.h: No such file or directory

I tried, as the error says, to add the glib2 to PKG_CONFIG_PATH but wasn't able to find it in /opt/local/bin

The only folders found: glib-compile-resources glib-compile-schemas glib-genmarshal glib-gettextize glib-mkenums

Does anyone know what is not working or missing? ..A friend of mine was able to put it running doing the same things as I did.

Thank you in advance.

#36334 git-core @1.7.12 +bash_completion - __git_ps1: command not found ciserlohn@… defect Normal ports

Reported by tshubitz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

v.1.7.12 of 'git-core' changed the shell script that is used to load the 'bash_completion' shell function.

The current version of this MacPort installs the previous shell script instead of the new script.

See "Git v1.7.12 Release Notes" for verification.

  • A rather heavy-ish "git completion" script has been split to create a separate "git prompting" script, to help lazy-autoloading of the completion part while making prompting part always available.

Changing line 169 in the Portfile should correct the issue.

#36339 qt4-mac does not work with clang 3.0 or older michaelld@… defect Normal ports

Reported by bgschaid@…, 3 years ago.

Description

During a regular upgrade compilation fails because during linking the library -ldbus-1 is not found. My guess is that the compiler (/usr/bin/clang) does not automatically search /opt/local/lib (there is no -L-entry pointing to that).

I copy the call in question into the description and attach the log-file separately

#36341 htmldoc: build fails with libpng 1.5; installation proceeds and no binary is installed ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macport@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hello. After installing htmldoc @1.8.27 on my computer (OS: 10.8.2; Macport : 2.1.2), I found out that I can't run the htmldoc executable.

$ htmldoc
-bash: htmldoc: command not found

Of course my path is set with /opt/local/bin. It seems to me that the binary are not there.

You can found the output of "contents htmldocs" on the attached files.

Thanks for your help!

#36342 Description for arping is incorrect snc@… defect Normal ports

Reported by tim@…, 3 years ago.

Description

At this URL: browser:trunk/dports/net/arping/Portfile the description reads:

"utility to find out if a MAC address is already taken on a LAN"

The long description reads:

"Arping is a util to find out if a specific IP address on the LAN is 'taken' and what MAC address owns it."

The long description is correct. The description is incorrect because you're not looking to see if a MAC address is taken just the IP address. Aside from soft-setting the MAC address you shouldn't run into duplicate MAC addresses on an Ethernet network.

#36343 Update Gwyddion to version 2.30 rowue@… update Normal ports

Reported by feranick@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Gwyddion 2.30 has been released upstream. Gwyddion in macports should be therefore upgraded from the current version 2.29.

http://gwyddion.net

Changelog:

Application

Translations updated: French, Russian.

Libraries

libgwyprocess: A new function to remove grains touching image borders. libgwyprocess: New grain quantities: Radius and position of maximum inscribed disc and minimum excscribed circle, area of grain convex hull, mean radius. libgwyapp: Critical warning/crash if the last visible channel of a file is deleted and this channel has a mask. libgwyapp: Setting a channel or graph visibility key in a container actually shows or hides the corresponding data.

Modules

Neural network: Split to two functions: training and application. Networks can be saved, trained on multiple data (sequentially), training signal can be masked, units of the output can be specified. APE file: Channel labelling for various modes was corrected. Createc: Dimensions and values of imported data was corrected, all channels are imported now. IGOR file: Crash on files that contain no channel titles was fixed. Selection manager tool: Chosen selection is shown in the data window. Remove Grain by Threshold: Can also remove grains touching image borders. Grain Statistics: Select Inscribed Discs and Select Excscribed Circles create circular selections visualising the corresponding discs/circles. Grain correlations: Really works when run non-interactively.

Other

Compatibility with newer version of GLib that deprecate various things was improved.

#36344 Processing of port python27 failed on MacOSX10.8.2 jwa@… defect Normal ports

I just uninstalled and reinstalled macports. I do

After several required packages are built, I finally get

#36345 libcxxabi: missing dependency on libunwind-headers jeremyhu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jsb@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I tried running 'port install libcxxabi' on Snow Leopard and it initially failed to build because it couldn't find the libunwind types. Running 'port install libunwind-headers' before running 'port install libcxxabi' fixes the problem, so I assume there is a missing dependency here...

#36354 docbook-utils @ 0.6.14 regex bug macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by lockhart@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The jw script wrapper contains two regex patterns fed to both grep and sed. GNU grep 2.5.1 on Lion did not complain, but Mountain Lion apparently ships BSD grep 2.5.1-FreeBSD and this one complains about it. But in any case the regex seems to be broken on all versions; it uses a character class [:space:] but does not surround it with an extra bracket (e.g. [[:space:]]) and does not call grep with the -E option to allow it to recognize extended patterns. Patch is tested on both Lion and Mountain Lion.

#36358 Upgrade Outdated Failure cal@… defect Normal base

Reported by bharper@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I have been trying to update things after using "selfupdate" to move from MacPorts 1.9.2 to the current version of MacPorts (which worked). Running "upgrade outdated" to update various packages doesn't work, but keeps running into the p5.12-locale-gettext and help2man error. I'm working on an Apple Xserve running OS X Server 10.6.8

[var/root] > upgrade outdated
Warning: No port p5.12-locale-gettext found in the index.
--->  Computing dependencies for help2man
Error: Dependency 'p5.12-locale-gettext' not found.
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1

Thing is, these things exist, just with a different name (shown with the "installed" command): ps5-locale-gettext @1.05_5 and help2man @1.39.3_0

I looked at some of the other tickets about this problem, but some are flagged as "duplicate" and refer to another ticket, but that one has no resolution to the problem. Either something is mal-named or something is broken in a dependency list, which can't be fixed because upgrade doesn't work. Catch-22.

#36359 "port install" fails on local portfile repository on a volume whose name contains a space macports-tickets@… defect Normal base

Reported by rb@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I am developing a portfile using the guide at http://guide.macports.org/#development.local-repositories

My home directory is on a secondary volume whose name is "Silverbird HD" and so contains a space. "port install" does not protect its path names against spaces and fails. See below.

Note: Renaming my volume is a workaround, not a fix :)

#36379 arm-elf-gdb fails to build due to -Werror billy@… defect Normal ports

Reported by degs@…, 3 years ago.

Description

An error is generated upon compile of arm-elf-gdb which I have tracked down, but I am not savvy enough to address:

      'libintl.h' file not found
#include <libintl.h>

'libintl.h' is correctly included from the gettext package, and the header is here: $MACPORTS/local/include/libintl.h

That header just needs to be included correctly by the opncls.c file.

#36381 mongodb: version 2.2.0 won't build under Mac OS 10.5 ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by heapifyman@…, 3 years ago.

Description

After issue #35118 had been fixed I tried to upgrade mongodb to the latest version but I got a build error.

I uninstalled boost befor upgrading as I assumed that mongodb port now comes with its own boost version.

Both upgrade and complete uninstall and re-install of mongodb failed. See error message below.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.

Hello,

I have unfortunately upgraded to wireshark 1.8.2 to find out that monitor mode was removed from capturing options for the interface? I am trying to revert back to old 1.6 wireshark but that doesn't work any more :(. Is there any other way I can enable apple wireless card to capture RAW air packets?

Thanks a lot for your help.

#36391 llvm-3.1, installation, command execution failed jeremyhu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by annelyse.thevenin@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I am in Moutain Lion (since few days), I am a beginner in mac. I want to install some ports (R, gcc, ...) which need llvm-3.1.

The first time I wanted to install llvm-3.1 (directly or by the installation of R) I had this message:

Error: No valid Xcode installation is properly selected.
Error: Please use xcode-select to select an Xcode installation:
Error:     sudo xcode-select -switch /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer # version

After check if "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer" exists, I write the sudo command suggested.

But I have an other message error (after sudo port clean llvm-3.1 and sudo port install llvm-3.1):

[...]
--->  Building llvm-3.1
Error: org.macports.build for port llvm-3.1 returned: command execution failed
Please see the log file for port llvm-3.1 for details:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_llvm-3.1/llvm-3.1/main.log
To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide:
    http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets
Error: Processing of port llvm-3.1 failed

I put the main.log file in attachment.

Like suggested in wiki:ProblemHotlist#compiler I tried with foo=llvm-3.1:

sudo port clean foo
sudo port install foo configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2

then

sudo port clean foo
sudo port install apple-gcc42
sudo port install foo configure.compiler=apple-gcc-4.2

It is doesn't work.

Could you help me?

#36393 gnuradio-qtgui @3.3.0 +python26, linking failure - QtGui framework not found despite being installed michaelld@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macports@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi,

gnuradio-qtgui fails linking due to the QtGui framework not being found (according to main.log). My system is OSX 10.6.8 with Xcode 4.2, MacPorts is 2.1.2 .

I'm trying to install gnuradio using wxwidgets-devel for 64 Bit support and boost 1.49.0_0 because of missing symbols when building gnuradio-gruel with boost 1.50. The QtGui Framework seems to be place:

aquila:~ eligs$ ls -l /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/QtGui.framework/Versions/4/
total 25464
drwxr-xr-x  849 root  wheel     28866 30 Sep 12:32 Headers
-rwxr-xr-x    1 root  wheel  13037352 20 Sep 22:44 QtGui
drwxr-xr-x    3 root  wheel       102 30 Sep 12:32 Resources

And according to the Log QTGUI is found by the configure script:

...
:info:configure checking for PyQt4 for Qt4... yes
:info:configure checking for QTCORE... yes
:info:configure checking for QTGUI... yes
:info:configure checking for QTOPENGL... yes
...

All ports were just wiped, cleaned and rebuilt before trying to install gnuradio.

#36395 gcc47: update to 4.7.2 mww@… update Normal ports

Reported by manphiz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

GCC 4.7 branch has been upgraded to 4.7.2. The provided patch disables cloog version checking since once ticket #36385 is resolved, cloog will upgrade to 0.17.0, which gcc 4.7.2 won't be able to detect during configure. Disabling version check is ok because cloog doesn't break any ABI after upgrade. Tested with +universal.

Please also note ticket #36364, which is also an important addition. It will be great to incorporate them all.

#36396 icu: update to 49.1.2 ryandesign@… update Normal ports

Reported by manphiz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The attached patch upgrade icu port to 49.1.2. It also refreshes patch-universal.diff to apply cleanly. Tested with +universal on Mountain Lion with clang.

#36397 jgraph-8.3 fails to compile with clang s@… defect Normal ports

Reported by brett.higgins@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Short version: clang doesn't like old-style C function definitions. configure.cc gives clang on Mountain Lion (maybe on others?), so jgraph fails to compile.

Lots of warnings like this:

edit.c:683:1: warning: type specifier missing, defaults to 'int' [-Wimplicit-int]
edit_hash_label(a)
^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

and resulting errors like this:

edit.c:700:40: error: non-void function 'edit_hash_label' should return a value [-Wreturn-type]
        if ((s = getlabel()) == CNULL) return;
                                       ^

Adding

configure.compiler   gcc

to the Portfile resolves the issue. (Alternative fix would be to patch all the old-style definitions; obviously more laborious.)

Description

#36399 pgAdmin3: patch missing jwa@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

r98240 added this to the Portfile:

post-configure {
    system -W ${worksrcpath} "patch -p0 <${filespath}/patch-Makefile.diff"
}

But that patch file was not added, so the port fails with:

DEBUG: Executing proc-post-org.macports.configure-configure-0
sh: /Users/rschmidt/macports/dports/aqua/pgAdmin3/files/patch-Makefile.diff: No such file or directory
Command failed: patch -p0 </Users/rschmidt/macports/dports/aqua/pgAdmin3/files/patch-Makefile.diff
#36400 pgAdmin3: change variant names jwa@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description
$ port info pgAdmin3 |head -n 2
pgAdmin3 @1.16.0 (aqua)
Variants:             debug, with_postgresql83, with_postgresql84, with_postgresql90, with_postgresql91, [+]with_postgresql92

The variant names should be changed. Variant names should not begin with a "with_" prefix.

The old variant names should be retained for one year, marked as requiring the new variant names, to facilitate upgrades.

The attached patch does this, and simplifies the variants as well by removing unnecessary directives.

The way the default variant is selected is also improved so that users wishing to use a non-default variant do not encounter an error message about variant conflicts.

Reported by manphiz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Updated to latest version which supports building with clang. Haven't tried 'make check' yet. Also notes:

  • The configure options have changed:
    • "--enable-progress-threads" doesn't exist anymore. Making variant "progressthreads" no-op.
    • Threads option changed from "--enable-mpi-threads" to "--enable-mpi-thread-multiple".
    • "--with-xgrid" doesn't exist. Dropped.
  • Make it work with both valgrind and valgrind-devel.
  • Fixed livecheck URL.
  • Failed to build with ccache. Disabled.

Reported by shawn@…, 3 years ago.

Description

On OSX 10.8.2 I cannot install octave-devel (though I don't know that it works with a different OS X version). It fails with the following error:

#36413 OpenSceneGraph fails to run macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by hartmut@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Using the 3.0.1 port (binary) in 2.1.2 there are a few issues that might be originating from a misconfigured build system. Firstly, the viewer doesn't come up:

Viewer::realize() - No valid contexts found, setting up view across all screens.
GraphicsContext::getWindowingSystemInterface() 0	0x101acbaa8
View::setUpViewAcrossAllScreens() : Error, no WindowSystemInterface available, cannot create windows.

Secondly, if any image file is being loaded it seems osgdb_qt.so is searched for as the loader interface which should be actually ImageIO instead or osgdb_imageio.so

dlopen(osgPlugins-3.0.1/osgdb_qt.so, 9): image not found
DynamicLibrary::failed loading "osgPlugins-3.0.1/osgdb_qt.so"
Warning: Could not find plugin to read objects from file "/Users/hartmut/Projects/tacitpixel/share/models/huedde2_3ds/wand1.jpg".

#36415 hdfeos5 @1.13r2 Configure failure takeshi@… defect Normal ports

Reported by uthyr@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi,

system info: Xserve hardware, running Mac OS X Server 10.6.8, with all Software Update patches applied.

my primary command that led to this configure failure was: "sudo port install ncarg +gcc45". I explicitly install the following ports in the following order, to build a foundation for a few packages along with ncarg/ncl:

wget +ssl
db46
gcc45
python27 (followed by the python_select command)
ghostscript
gv +letter
ImageMagick +q16
gsl +gcc45
hdf5-18 +cxx +gcc45 (have also tried this with "hdf5-18 +cxx +gcc45 +szip")
hdf4 +gcc45
netcdf +dap +netcdf4 +hdf4
netcdf-fortran +gcc45
nco
ncarg +gcc45

in building the dependencies for ncarg, I now repeatedly get the "configure failure" for hdfeos5. I've tried "sudo port clean hdfeos5", then "sudo port install hdfeos5" and also "sudo port install hdfeos5 +szip". all attempts fail currently.

Installation of this same group of packages worked recently, I believe it was last week, on my Lion machine. My list of outdated ports on the Lion machine show upgrades available for:

automake 1.12.2_0 < 1.12.4_0
bison 2.6_0 < 2.6.2_0
cairo 1.12.2_0 < 1.12.2_1

curl 7.26.0_0 < 7.27.0_1

fftw-3 3.3.2_0 < 3.3.2_1
gcc45 4.5.4_1 < 4.5.4_6

llvm-3.1 3.1_1 < 3.1_3
mesa 8.0.4_0 < 8.0.4_1
ncarg 6.0.0_5 < 6.0.0_10
nco 4.2.0_0 < 4.2.1_1
netcdf-fortran 4.2_4 < 4.2_5
netpbm 10.59.00_0 < 10.59.00_1
pkgconfig 0.27_0 < 0.27.1_1
sqlite3 3.7.13_0 < 3.7.14_1
tcl 8.5.11_0 < 8.5.12_1

wget 1.13.4_0 < 1.14_0
wgrib2 1.9.6a_0 < 1.9.6a_3

The only change I've made in the package requests since the Lion install last week (or so) is that hdf5-18 did not have "+cxx" as a default then. At that time, hdfeos5 @1.13r2 configured, built and installed fine.

please check, and thanks for all your work with these packages!

#36418 Upgrade to cloog 0.17 breaks old binaries adfernandes@… defect Normal ports

Reported by bgschaid@…, 3 years ago.

Description

After upgrading of cloog from @0.16.3_2 g++-mp-4.6 doesn't work any more:

dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libcloog-isl.2.dylib
  Referenced from: /opt/local/libexec/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin11/4.6.3/cc1plus
  Reason: image not found
g++-mp-4.6: internal compiler error: Trace/BPT trap: 5 (program cc1plus)

Symbolic link to /opt/local/lib/libcloog-isl.3.dylib "fixes" this issue (but then a similar thing happens with th upgraded ISL)

#36419 Upgrade to ISL 0.10 breaks old binaries macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by bgschaid@…, 3 years ago.

Description

After upgrading from @0.07_2 and after applying the workaround described in #36418 to fix a problem with cloog cpp-mp-4.6 fails with this message

dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libisl.7.dylib
  Referenced from: /opt/local/libexec/gcc/x86_64-apple-darwin11/4.6.3/cc1
  Reason: image not found
cpp-mp-4.6: internal compiler error: Trace/BPT trap: 5 (program cc1)

after resolving this with a symbolic link to libisl.10.dylib it fails with

dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libisl.9.dylib
  Referenced from: /opt/local/lib/libcloog-isl.2.dylib
  Reason: image not found
cpp-mp-4.6: internal compiler error: Trace/BPT trap: 5 (program cc1)

After adding one more symbolic link the compiler works

#36420 py-anyjson: update to version 0.3.3 blair@… update Normal ports

Reported by stromnov@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Patch for py-anyjson 0.3.3.

Note:

  1. Added py3x subports (since version 0.3)
  2. Removed explicit py-cjson installations for python >= 2.6 (cjson is no longer maintained, is the least preferred implementation since 0.3.1, and sometimes slower than internal python 2.6+ implementation, and much slower than py-yajl)
Note: See TracQuery for help on using queries.
