#36262 ocilib: update to 3.10.0 pvanek@… update Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I see ocilib 3.10.0 is out since August; perhaps the port should be updated.

The livecheck should be fixed too.

#36263 ocilib: build 32-bit on Lion and up pvanek@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. I've verified this crash with php-oracle and TOra so I assume other ports including ocilib are affected too. Therefore this patch makes ocilib build 32-bit on Lion and up. I'll be doing similar patches for other ports using oracle-instantclient.

#36264 soci-devel: build oracle variant 32-bit on Lion and up g.lorenz@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. I've verified this crash with php-oracle and TOra so I assume other ports including soci-devel are affected too. Therefore this patch makes soci-devel build 32-bit on Lion and up when the +oracle variant is selected. I'll be doing similar patches for other ports using oracle-instantclient. Let me know if the patch looks ok and I can commit it for you.

#36265 soci-devel: error: use 'template' keyword to treat 'value' as a dependent template name g.lorenz@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

soci-devel fails to build, at least with clang on Xcode 4.4.1 on Mountain Lion. The error is:

error: use 'template' keyword to treat 'value' as a dependent template name

We fixed a similar problem in kdelibs4 recently so the fix here may be similar. It may be prudent to first try to update soci-devel to a newer upstream version; they may have fixed this already.

#36267 qore-oracle-module: build 32-bit on Lion and up davidnichols@… defect Normal ports

Reported by ryandesign@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. I've verified this crash with php-oracle and TOra so I assume other ports including qore-oracle-module are affected too. Therefore this patch makes qore-oracle-module build 32-bit on Lion and up. I've done similar patches for other ports using oracle-instantclient. This patch also rewrites the master_sites to avoid HTTP redirects.

#36277 livechecks of various ports are broken macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by kuba@…, 3 years ago.

Description

port livecheck all returns plenty of errors (HTTP errors, non-matching regexes, etc.) I'll attach a current list. Patches will follow in an attempt to get this list as small as possible. Question: should a ticket be opened for each port in spite of it all being fixed by one-liners, or should there be a patch that can fix many portfiles at once?

#36280 qt4-creator-mac cannot find QMLViewer macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macports@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Although qt4-creator-mac automatically detects the QMake binary and Qt libraries of the installed version of qt4-mac, it fails to find the QmlViewer application. This is because it only searches for it in the directory containing the QMake binary (/opt/local/bin), but the application is actually installed in ${qt_apps_dir} (/Applications/MacPorts/Qt4) instead.

To reproduce this issue, open the "Preferences", go to the "Build & Run" section and select the "Qt Versions" tab. If QmlViewer is not found, a warning icon appears next to the selected Qt version and the description says "No qmlviewer installed."

The solution is to enhance the application-finding mechanism of qt4-creator-mac to explicitly search in ${qt_apps_dir} as well. I'm going to add a patch shortly which does this.

#36283 emacs23: CVE-2012-3479 security issue dports@… defect Normal ports

Reported by blair@…, 3 years ago.

Description

There's a security issue in emacs23:

http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2012-3479

lisp/files.el in Emacs 23.2, 23.3, 23.4, and 24.1 automatically executes eval forms in local-variable sections when the enable-local-variables option is set to :safe, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary Emacs Lisp code via a crafted file.

The patch here applies cleanly to the source:

#36284 Emacs-app @24.2 old fullscreen css@… enhancement Normal ports

Reported by rhuelga@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Since lion the fullscreen makes useless the second monitor. So every time there is a update I edit the Portfile removing the system check

    if {${os.major} >= 11}

and forcing to use the patch-fullscreen.diff instead of the patch-lion-fullscreen.diff

I think that will be great if a new variant is created, maybe oldfullscreen. For the people who prefere the pre-lion fullscreen mode for emacs.

What do you think?

And Thank you people for your great work on MacPorts.

#36285 openslide @3.3.0 New port ryandesign@… submission Normal ports

Reported by bgilbert@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Attached is a portfile for the OpenSlide library. I am willing to maintain this port, and am also the maintainer of the upstream package.

Package description: OpenSlide is a C library that provides a simple interface for reading whole-slide images, also known as virtual slides, which are high-resolution images used in digital pathology. These images can occupy tens of gigabytes when uncompressed, and so cannot be easily read using standard tools or libraries, which are designed for images that can be comfortably uncompressed into RAM. Whole-slide images are typically multi-resolution; OpenSlide allows reading a small amount of image data at the resolution closest to a desired zoom level. OpenSlide can read slides in the Aperio (.svs or .tif), Hamamatsu (.vms or .vmu), Leica (.scn), MIRAX (.mrxs), Trestle (.tif), and generic tiled TIFF (.tif) formats.

#36286 gst-plugins-bad: typo in jack variant ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by christian.frisson@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The current Portfile of gst-plugins-bad (0.10.23) contains:

variant jack description {enable use of jack backend } {

    configure.args-delete   --disable-jack
}

Could you correct the second line with:

    depends_lib-append      port:jack

?

So that port info gst-plugins-bad works again. (I added +jack to my /opt/local/etc/macports/variants.conf).

#36293 ROOT update to 5.34.02 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jonesc@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Update ROOT to the latest patch release 5.34.02.

Other changes are

  • No longer set CC, CXX or F77 before the build phase. Not needed, and interferes with the cocoa variant.
  • Disable support for asimage or astiff when the cocoa variant is selected, as there is a compilation failure otherwise.

#36294 ace @6.1.4 New patch files for MountainLion macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by lockhart@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The current version of ACE (and TAO; will open another ticket for that one) does not have explicit support for the newest release of Mac OS X. The settings for Lion work fine for MountainLion so minor patches to provide placeholder files for MountainLion are sufficient.

#36295 tao @6.1.4 New patch files for MountainLion macports-tickets@… update Normal ports

Reported by lockhart@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Here are minor patches to support Mountain Lion. The TAO (and ACE, ticket #36294) distro uses version-specific includes and makefiles to support the various Mac OS X releases. The current version 6.1.4 does not yet have those for Mountain Lion.

#36296 OS X Mountain Lion has no /var/log/secure.log for sshguard to read nefar@… defect Normal ports

Reported by s.t.smith@…, 3 years ago.

Description

For some reason, Apple has rolled up a lot of logging into syslog, including all the ssh stuff. Consequently, there is no /var/log/secure.log for sshguard to read. The current sshguard defaults results in logs that look like:

Sep 23 03:39:01 foo com.apple.launchd[1] (org.macports.sshguard): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Sep 23 03:39:11 foo.bar.com sshguard[64933]: File '/var/log/secure.log' vanished while adding!
Sep 23 03:39:11 foo com.apple.launchd[1] (org.macports.sshguard): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Sep 23 03:39:21 foo.bar.com sshguard[65369]: File '/var/log/secure.log' vanished while adding!

The fix is to remove the line '-l /var/log/secure.log' from /opt/local/etc/sshguard/options, but I'm not sure if looking only at /var/log/system.log will capture all the stuff sshguard needs for filtering.

#36297 cyrus-sasl2 @2.1.25_2+kerberos crashes jmpp@… defect Normal ports

Reported by nicolasc@…, 3 years ago.

Description

cyrus-sasl2 @2.1.25_2+kerberos crashes when used for SMTP authentication in mutt. (And probably in a bunch of other conditions.)

Phil Pennock (cyrus-sasl-phil at spodhuis.org) posted a patch (http://lists.andrew.cmu.edu/pipermail/cyrus-sasl/2011-October/002358.html) now included in other cyrus-sasl2 builds; for some reason it didn't make it to the Mac Ports version.

The patch has apparently been committed to the mainline (http://lists.andrew.cmu.edu/pipermail/cyrus-sasl/2011-October/002359.html).

I am attaching the patch. Tested it and it works.

#36309 Error: org.macports.install for port python27 returned: no destroot found jwa@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jls106@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I'm having the same problem as reported in Ticket #35850 (not yet resolved). I have a new Mac (Lion 10.7.5) to which I migrated my old system contents. I then installed Xcode 4.5 and downloaded the latest Macport .dmg for Lion. I then used xcode-select to link the two. But the functionality of commands was not good. So I tried to upgrade and install, but often I get:

--->  Installing python27 @2.7.3_0
Error: org.macports.install for port python27 returned: no destroot found at: /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_python27/python27/work/destroot
Error: Failed to install python27

I cleaned python. And tried to reinstall. I get the same error. Then I uninstalled macport entirely and reinstalled it. Still the same problem.

I've attached the error log.

Thanks, Jeff

#36310 mailsync @5.2.1: configure fails to find pam on 10.6+ macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by mtb19@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I have a local, single-user installation of MacPorts (in "${HOME}/ports/..."). The reason I have a local, single-user installation is because I do not have root privileges on that particular machine.

#36311 arb broken by libpng15 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by matt.cottrell@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The attached patches are a short term fix for the arb port which was broken by the upgrade to libpng15

An arb user brought this to my attention with Ticket #36271.

I have contacted the upstream developer about updating arb to libpng15 compatibility.

#36312 Update: mdbtools-0.7 and.damore@… update Normal ports

Reported by me@…, 3 years ago.

Description

0.7 is released by the original developer who has moved his work from Sourceforge to Github.

#36313 Missing installed header file raimue@… defect Normal ports

Reported by smirolo@…, 3 years ago.

Description

When you include /opt/local/include/elftoolchain/libdwarf.h header, the compiler tries to include transitively elfdefinitions.h which is missing.

I used the following workaround for now:

$ port fetch elftoolchain
$ tar jxvf /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/elftoolchain/elftoolchain-0.5.1.tar.bz2
$ find elftoolchain-0.5.1 -name 'elfdefinitions.h'
$ sudo install elftoolchain-0.5.1/common/elfdefinitions.h /opt/local/include/elftoolchain

#36315 Switch from ui_msg to notes in postgresql server installs mww@… defect Normal ports

Reported by singingwolfboy@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The post-install "ui_msg" lines in the postgresql92-server port (and other postgresql server ports) are very useful, but easy to lose in a scrollback. Can we switch this to using "notes" instead, so that users can pull them back up by running port notes postgresql92-server? I've attached a patch as an example; there's no reason why a similar patch can't be applied to other ports, as well.

#36316 splash @2.1.1 +hdf5 - build failure macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by daniel.price@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi folks,

I discovered an issue with the splash Portfile for the hdf5 variant (fails to build)

Essentially, should depend on hdf5-18 not hdf5

Portfile.diff that fixes this attached

Only thing I'm not sure of is whether I need to bump a revision number if only the Portfile has changed?

Cheers,

Daniel

#36320 vxl: build failure with libpng 1.5 wiking@… defect Normal ports

Reported by boker@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I am unable to install vxl on the latest 10.8.2 with xcode 4.5. Have tried all the usual tricks, including

sudo port selfupdate
sudo port clean vxl
sudo port upgrade outdated
sudo port install vxl configure.compiler=llvm-gcc-4.2

and the same setup with

sudo port install vxl configure.compiler=apple-gcc-4.2

I even tried completely removing macports (rm -rf /opt/local and the all the rest) and reinstalling everything (MacPorts-2.1.2-10.8-MountainLion.pkg) from scratch.

No matter what I've tried I get the same error and logfile ends up the same.

The logfile from the fresh install from the file is appended. The only commands after the fresh install are:

#36321 Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by diogowbrito@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hello,

I've successfully installed glib2 trough MacPorts but can't still compile my program.

Installed, as seen:

sudo port install glib2
--->  Computing dependencies for glib2
--->  Cleaning glib2
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0%
--->  No broken files found.

sudo port install pkgconfig
--->  Cleaning pkgconfig
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors: 100.0%
--->  No broken files found.

And compiling...

eg:

gcc -o main main.c `pkg-config --libs --cflags glib-2.0`
Package glib-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `glib-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'glib-2.0' found
main.c:17:18: error: glib.h: No such file or directory

I tried, as the error says, to add the glib2 to PKG_CONFIG_PATH but wasn't able to find it in /opt/local/bin

The only folders found: glib-compile-resources glib-compile-schemas glib-genmarshal glib-gettextize glib-mkenums

Does anyone know what is not working or missing? ..A friend of mine was able to put it running doing the same things as I did.

Thank you in advance.

#36334 git-core @1.7.12 +bash_completion - __git_ps1: command not found ciserlohn@… defect Normal ports

Reported by tshubitz@…, 3 years ago.

Description

v.1.7.12 of 'git-core' changed the shell script that is used to load the 'bash_completion' shell function.

The current version of this MacPort installs the previous shell script instead of the new script.

See "Git v1.7.12 Release Notes" for verification.

  • A rather heavy-ish "git completion" script has been split to create a separate "git prompting" script, to help lazy-autoloading of the completion part while making prompting part always available.

Changing line 169 in the Portfile should correct the issue.

#36339 qt4-mac does not work with clang 3.0 or older michaelld@… defect Normal ports

Reported by bgschaid@…, 3 years ago.

Description

During a regular upgrade compilation fails because during linking the library -ldbus-1 is not found. My guess is that the compiler (/usr/bin/clang) does not automatically search /opt/local/lib (there is no -L-entry pointing to that).

I copy the call in question into the description and attach the log-file separately

#36341 htmldoc: build fails with libpng 1.5; installation proceeds and no binary is installed ryandesign@… defect Normal ports

Reported by macport@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hello. After installing htmldoc @1.8.27 on my computer (OS: 10.8.2; Macport : 2.1.2), I found out that I can't run the htmldoc executable.

$ htmldoc
-bash: htmldoc: command not found

Of course my path is set with /opt/local/bin. It seems to me that the binary are not there.

You can found the output of "contents htmldocs" on the attached files.

Thanks for your help!

#36342 Description for arping is incorrect snc@… defect Normal ports

Reported by tim@…, 3 years ago.

Description

At this URL: browser:trunk/dports/net/arping/Portfile the description reads:

"utility to find out if a MAC address is already taken on a LAN"

The long description reads:

"Arping is a util to find out if a specific IP address on the LAN is 'taken' and what MAC address owns it."

The long description is correct. The description is incorrect because you're not looking to see if a MAC address is taken just the IP address. Aside from soft-setting the MAC address you shouldn't run into duplicate MAC addresses on an Ethernet network.

#36343 Update Gwyddion to version 2.30 rowue@… update Normal ports

Reported by feranick@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Gwyddion 2.30 has been released upstream. Gwyddion in macports should be therefore upgraded from the current version 2.29.

http://gwyddion.net

Changelog:

Application

Translations updated: French, Russian.

Libraries

libgwyprocess: A new function to remove grains touching image borders. libgwyprocess: New grain quantities: Radius and position of maximum inscribed disc and minimum excscribed circle, area of grain convex hull, mean radius. libgwyapp: Critical warning/crash if the last visible channel of a file is deleted and this channel has a mask. libgwyapp: Setting a channel or graph visibility key in a container actually shows or hides the corresponding data.

Modules

Neural network: Split to two functions: training and application. Networks can be saved, trained on multiple data (sequentially), training signal can be masked, units of the output can be specified. APE file: Channel labelling for various modes was corrected. Createc: Dimensions and values of imported data was corrected, all channels are imported now. IGOR file: Crash on files that contain no channel titles was fixed. Selection manager tool: Chosen selection is shown in the data window. Remove Grain by Threshold: Can also remove grains touching image borders. Grain Statistics: Select Inscribed Discs and Select Excscribed Circles create circular selections visualising the corresponding discs/circles. Grain correlations: Really works when run non-interactively.

Other

Compatibility with newer version of GLib that deprecate various things was improved.

#36344 Processing of port python27 failed on MacOSX10.8.2 jwa@… defect Normal ports

Reported by phillicl@…, 3 years ago.

Description

Hi, I am doing the (rude) thing of opening a new ticket because my last ticket got one request for a main.log and then was ignored after I attached it. If I can't get port working with python, my project comes to a grinding stop.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled macports. I do

sudo port install python27

After several required packages are built, I finally get

#36345 libcxxabi: missing dependency on libunwind-headers jeremyhu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by jsb@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I tried running 'port install libcxxabi' on Snow Leopard and it initially failed to build because it couldn't find the libunwind types. Running 'port install libunwind-headers' before running 'port install libcxxabi' fixes the problem, so I assume there is a missing dependency here...

#36354 docbook-utils @ 0.6.14 regex bug macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports

Reported by lockhart@…, 3 years ago.

Description

The jw script wrapper contains two regex patterns fed to both grep and sed. GNU grep 2.5.1 on Lion did not complain, but Mountain Lion apparently ships BSD grep 2.5.1-FreeBSD and this one complains about it. But in any case the regex seems to be broken on all versions; it uses a character class [:space:] but does not surround it with an extra bracket (e.g. [[:space:]]) and does not call grep with the -E option to allow it to recognize extended patterns. Patch is tested on both Lion and Mountain Lion.

#36358 Upgrade Outdated Failure cal@… defect Normal base

Reported by bharper@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I have been trying to update things after using "selfupdate" to move from MacPorts 1.9.2 to the current version of MacPorts (which worked). Running "upgrade outdated" to update various packages doesn't work, but keeps running into the p5.12-locale-gettext and help2man error. I'm working on an Apple Xserve running OS X Server 10.6.8

[var/root] > upgrade outdated
Warning: No port p5.12-locale-gettext found in the index.
--->  Computing dependencies for help2man
Error: Dependency 'p5.12-locale-gettext' not found.
Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1

Thing is, these things exist, just with a different name (shown with the "installed" command): ps5-locale-gettext @1.05_5 and help2man @1.39.3_0

I looked at some of the other tickets about this problem, but some are flagged as "duplicate" and refer to another ticket, but that one has no resolution to the problem. Either something is mal-named or something is broken in a dependency list, which can't be fixed because upgrade doesn't work. Catch-22.

#36359 "port install" fails on local portfile repository on a volume whose name contains a space macports-tickets@… defect Normal base

Reported by rb@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I am developing a portfile using the guide at http://guide.macports.org/#development.local-repositories

My home directory is on a secondary volume whose name is "Silverbird HD" and so contains a space. "port install" does not protect its path names against spaces and fails. See below.

Note: Renaming my volume is a workaround, not a fix :)

rb@silverbird$ sudo port install mps
Password:
Error: Unable to execute port: /opt/local/var/macports/build/_Volumes_Silverbird: no such file or directory

#36363 port mpkg does not propagate all variants to dependencies macports-tickets@… defect Normal MacPorts 2.1.3 base

Reported by stefan+macports@…, 3 years ago.

Description

I'm trying to build a zim dmg with all dependencies included. While my normal port install version works fine and uses +quartz +no_x11, issuing port mdmg zim +quartz +no_x11 still packages e.g. gtk +x11.

(I see that there were tickets about +universal not being respected but either that was not the same problem or the problem got reintroduced.)

#36364 gcc47, gcc48: Missing support for std::this_thread::sleep_for/sleep_until jeremyhu@… defect Normal ports

Reported by l.digaspero@…, 3 years ago.

Description

In order to fully support c++11 threads for g++47/g++48, it is necessary to add the flag --enable-libstdccxx-time to ./configure in order to automatically define the _GLIBCXX_USE_NANOSLEEP macro and compile the support to sleep_for/sleep_until functions in threads.

#36379 arm-elf-gdb fails to build due to -Werror billy@… defect Normal ports

Reported by degs@…, 3 years ago.

Description

An error is generated upon compile of arm-elf-gdb which I have tracked down, but I am not savvy enough to address:

/gdb-7.1/bfd/opncls.c:25:
/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_cross_arm-elf-gdb/arm-elf-gdb/work/gdb-7.1/bfd/sysdep.h:173:10: fatal error:
      'libintl.h' file not found
#include <libintl.h>

'libintl.h' is correctly included from the gettext package, and the header is here: $MACPORTS/local/include/libintl.h

That header just needs to be included correctly by the opncls.c file.
