#36157 wxMaxima wrong SDK using Xcode 4.4 - better handling deps usami-k@… defect Normal ports
Description

Since wxWidgets has issues builting with Xcode 4.4 I suggest switching back the wxWidgets dependency to a port: one and checking the registry for an active wxWidgets-devel, if there's one that fallback on that editing supported_archs.

This way the port can be build 64 bits on modern systems while still supporting 2.8 wxWidgets.

Patch attached.

#36163 libstdcxx is not the correct name for GNU libstdc++ mww@… defect Normal ports

The libstdcxx port currently installs the GNU libstdc++ library. A port with this name should install the Apache libstdcxx library.

#36164 libstdcxx still won't build mww@… defect Normal ports
Description

Despite several now-closed tickets saying the port of libstdcxx is fixed, I still cannot get it to build. Using current xcode (4.4.1) command-lien tools under OS X 10.8.1. Log is attached.

#36166 valgrind-devel not building on mountain lion 10.8.1 macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports
Description

This ticket is similar to https://trac.macports.org/ticket/35552 but since that bug denotes "fixed", I am opening this one as it does not appear to be so fixed.

#36178 Add port select support for pip and virtualenv akitada@… request Normal ports
Description

Would it be possible to implement the possibility to select a default pip and virtualenv? E.g.

sudo port select --set pip py27-pip
sudo port select --set virtualenv py27-virtualenv

Just like for python, ipython, cython or nosetests this would be very useful. pip and virtualenv are quite frequently used e.g. in shell scripts written by others to install software and if only pip-2.7 is on the PATH they fail. I would prefer setting the default version via Macports than via symlinks or aliases.

#36179 Please add port select --summary option macports-tickets@… enhancement Normal base
Description

I love how easy it is with port select to switch between versions.

But finding out which of the ports I have installed support port select is tricky. I have to google to find http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8016692/on-macports-what-ports-are-supported-by-port-select and then I see

$ ls /opt/local/etc/select
clang cython gcc ipython llvm mysql nosetests pep8 python qt4 scala sphinx
$ port select --show gcc
The currently selected version for 'gcc' is 'mp-gcc47'.
$ port select --show python
The currently selected version for 'python' is 'python27'.

Would it be possible to have one command (e.g. called --summary) that shows an overview table:

$ port select --summary
Portgroup   Selected   Options
gcc         mp-gcc47   none llvm-gcc42 mp-gcc45 mp-gcc47 mp-llvm-gcc42
python      python27   none python27 python32

#36187 php5-curl 5.3.15 does nothing when I call curl_exec() ryandesign@… defect Normal ports
Description

Hi

After recent updates, I have found out that the php5-curl extension does not work. This means that it does not sends requests. Example code:

<?php

error_reporting(E_ALL);
$handle = curl_init();
$curl_options = array(
  CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR => NULL,
  CURLOPT_URL => 'http://apple.com/',
  CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION => FALSE,
  CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER => TRUE,
  CURLOPT_HEADER => FALSE,
);
curl_setopt_array($handle, $curl_options);
$content = curl_exec($handle);
curl_close($handle);
print $content;

This returns nothing (no content, no errors in any logs) on my machine, but it returns content on any other servers. This breaks almost all sites which I work on.

No installed ports are outdated.

sudo port -f uninstall root

sudo port install root +avahi +fftw3 +fitsio +gcc47 +ldap +mysql +odbc +postgresql92 +pythia +python32 +qt_mac +ruby

but it fails.

Removing the qt_mac variant works, i.e.

sudo port install root +avahi +fftw3 +fitsio +gcc47 +ldap +mysql +odbc +postgresql92 +pythia +python32 +ruby

works fine.

Anyway, I would prefer to install ROOT also with qt_mac variant..

Attached the main log. I would ask if this is the result of recent the changes (libstdcxx etc.) in GCC.

Ciao, Angelo.

#36193 File permissions of port py27-httplib2 appear incorrect akitada@… defect Normal ports
Description

A port (py27-errorhandler) that depended on py27-http2 failed to install. Looking up the failure log, the following line indicated a problem with the py27-http2 port:

:info:build IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/httplib2-0.7.6-py2.7.egg-info/top_level.txt'

it appeared that several files that form the py27-http2 port had perms of 640, rather than the typical 644, meaning that a non-root process couldn't read the files.

fabry@Tomokato:/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/httplib2-0.7.6-py2.7.egg-info
[4997] $ ls -lah
total 32
drwxr-xr-x    6 root  wheel   204B Sep 17 18:15 .
drwxr-xr-x  100 root  wheel   3.3K Sep 17 18:15 ..
-rw-r-----    1 root  wheel   2.3K Sep 17 18:15 PKG-INFO
-rw-r-----    1 root  wheel   787B Sep 17 18:15 SOURCES.txt
-rw-r-----    1 root  wheel     1B Sep 17 18:15 dependency_links.txt
-rw-r-----    1 root  wheel     9B Sep 17 18:15 top_level.txt

I think these permissions are set upon port installation, hence I think this is a problem with the port.

I tried force uninstalling, cleaning, and reinstalling py27-http2 & py27-errorhandler, with the same results. A sudo chmod 644 to the /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/site-packages/httplib2-0.7.6-py2.7.egg-info directory fixed the problems (i.e. sudo port install py27-errorhandler successfully completed).

This problem occurred on OS X 10.8.1, using Xcode 4.4.1 (4F1003), Macports 2.1.2, py27-httplib2 @2-0.7.6_0.

Thanks for contributing to Macports!

#36203 hdf5-18: Variant openmpi conflicts with gcc45 mmoll@… defect Normal ports
Description

I have hdf5-18 installed with the variants gcc45 and openmpi:

bash-3.2$ port installed hdf5-18
The following ports are currently installed:
  hdf5-18 @1.8.9_0+gcc45+openmpi (active)

since version 1.8.9.1, hdf5-18 the compatibility with previous version is lost and it doesn't accept anymore gcc45+openmpi variants. I cannot upgrade this package and the related packages.

Error: hdf5-18: Variant openmpi conflicts with gcc45

However, I need gcc45+openmpi for netcdf and wgrib2 that depends on hdf5-18.
How should I proceed?

#36210 djview 4.9: Garbage ideograms nicos@… defect Normal ports
Description

In DJVIEW 4.9 (DjVuLibre 3.5.25) there are menu items and dialog box buttons with IDEOGRAMS (Chinese/Japanese characters) .

This didn't occur in previous version, 4.5, of DJVIEW.

If I just substitute the /Applications/MacPorts/djview.app/Contents/MacOS/djview file of 4.9 version with that of 4.5 version, the ideograms disappear and the involved menu items etc. display correctly, with english characters.

Here is on Lion 10.7.4 and Xcode 4.4.1.

#36222 defect: PortGroup cmake needs depends_skip_archcheck for cmake macports-tickets@… defect Normal ports
Description

I think portgroup cmake needs depends_skip_archcheck.

example:

  1. install cmake
  2. install mysql55 +universal
    • uninstall cmake and install cmake +universal
    • install mysql55

we should be allowed to install universal mysql55 with non-universal cmake.

#36225 qt4-mac does not install private headers required by QmlDesigner plugin of qt4-creator-mac michaelld@… defect Normal ports
Description

When installing qt4-creator-mac, the QmlDesigner plugin is not built and the build log contains the following warning:

Project WARNING: QmlDesigner plugin has been disabled.
Project WARNING: The plugin depends on private headers from QtDeclarative module.
Project WARNING: To enable it, pass 'QT_PRIVATE_HEADERS=$QTDIR/include' to qmake, where $QTDIR is the source directory of qt.

The folks at Gentoo address this issue by allowing to install the required private headers along with Qt (see http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/x11-libs/qt-core/qt-core-4.8.3-r1.ebuild?view=markup, lines 124ff.). For earlier versions of Qt, they made this behaviour dependent on a USE-flag (variant), but as of version 4.8, they always install those headers by default.

For adoption in MacPorts, the latter approach would probably be the more desirable one, since we have no real way to make one port depend on a specific variant of another port. I'm going to add a respective patch shortly.

#36230 eigen3 does not appear to install any architecture-specific files eborisch@… defect Normal ports
Description

The eigen3 port has a universal variant, and even contains lots of code for handling the universal variant—but the port doesn't seem to actually install any architecture-specific files, so it shouldn't have a universal variant, and should instead specify "supported_archs noarch".

$ port installed eigen3
The following ports are currently installed:
  eigen3 @3.1.1_1+cmake+universal (active)
$ port -q contents eigen3 | xargs file | grep 86
$

Unless of course the port is supposed to be installing some architecture-specific files and isn't, in which was that should be fixed.

#36240 optipng @0.7.2 mismatched libpng causes nonworking binaries ryandesign@… defect Normal ports
Description

On Mountain Lion, optipng doesn't work at all. I tried with different PNG files, but I always get the following error:

** Processing: apple-touch-icon-114x114.png

Error: Out of memory

** Status report
1 file(s) have been processed.
1 error(s) have been encountered.

I have libpng already installed by MacPorts, as dependency for ghostscript and ImageMagick; is it possible that optipng sees the png.h from libpng-1.5.2 installed by MacPorts, instead of its own bundled copy, due to the compiler include path?

#36243 maxima's only dependency on 32 bit tk should be made optional, it is for xmaxima kuba@… enhancement Normal ports
Description

Maxima depends on the currently 32 bit tk from macports. The part of maxima that needs it is the graphical shell xmaxima. An alternative shell wxMaxima-devel already is 64 bit clean (doesn't depend on any i386 ports). The xmaxima should be made a variant that's turned on by default but can be turned off. In presence of xmaxima variant maxima should be 32-bit only, otherwise is universal.

I'll work on a patch.

#36260 TOra: switch no_oracle variant to oracle variant, and enforce 32-bit mode on Lion and up petr@… enhancement Normal ports
Description

Here's a patch for TOra. The patch does two things:

First, it changes the port's no_oracle variant into an oracle variant. We don't like using variants whose names begin with "no_" anymore, now that MacPorts has the ability to remember disabled variants. A stub no_oracle variant remains to help existing users upgrade; it can be removed in a year or so once most users can be expected to have upgraded.

Second, oracle-instantclient crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. Therefore this patch makes the port build in 32-bit mode in that case. I'm going to be doing similar patches for all the other ports that use oracle-instantclient.

Let me know if the patch looks ok to you and I'll commit it.

#36261 libzdb-oracle: build 32-bit on Lion and up to avoid crashes pixilla@… defect Normal ports
Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. I've verified this crash with php-oracle and TOra so I assume other ports including libzdb-oracle are affected too. Therefore this patch makes libzdb-oracle build 32-bit on Lion and up. I'll be doing similar patches for other ports using oracle-instantclient.

Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521. I've verified this crash with php-oracle and TOra so I assume other ports including soci-devel are affected too. Therefore this patch makes soci-devel build 32-bit on Lion and up when the +oracle variant is selected. I'll be doing similar patches for other ports using oracle-instantclient. Let me know if the patch looks ok and I can commit it for you.

#36265 soci-devel: error: use 'template' keyword to treat 'value' as a dependent template name g.lorenz@… defect Normal ports
Description

soci-devel fails to build, at least with clang on Xcode 4.4.1 on Mountain Lion. The error is:

error: use 'template' keyword to treat 'value' as a dependent template name

We fixed a similar problem in kdelibs4 recently so the fix here may be similar. It may be prudent to first try to update soci-devel to a newer upstream version; they may have fixed this already.

#36267 qore-oracle-module: build 32-bit on Lion and up davidnichols@… defect Normal ports
Description

The oracle-instantclient library crashes in 64-bit mode on Lion and up; see #31521.
