I'll handle the DarwinPorts port and replace it with an appropriate MacPorts one just on the verge of the 1.4 release. As for DarwinPortsStartup, we should look for the ports that use it/depend on it and encourage maintainers to move to startupitems.* keys, creating tickets with patches for them to test if necessary, just as you're doing for the 'delete' extension right now. Once all ports have moved, DarwinPortsStartup should be removed from the tree.

We should also consider bumping the revision of every single aqua port once 1.4 is out to finally move them from /Applicatins/DarwinPors to /Applications/MacPorts

DarwinPortsStartup was eliminated after converting the last ports to StartupItems so I'm closing this ticket.
