Juan, when you review the ReadMe.rtf, could you see if the reference to 'port sync' is still necessary and if not remove it before comitting? I thought maybe it could be removed but I wasn't completely clear on that so I left it in for now. Any other changes are also fine, of course.

Committed in r22610 (portfile.7) & r22628 (ReadMe.rtf, with some rather drastic changes here and there ;-) to trunk and in r22631 & r22632 to the release_1_4 branch. Mark, thanks a lot for your continuos help and suggestions on rewriting our documentation! I would love it if you could read the new ReadMe.rtf file and make any suggestions you might have for it! Closing ticket.

I went ahead and made some corrections and cleanup and committed it in r22655. I hope you don't mind that I went ahead and committed them. You can reverse it right? :) I thought perhaps that was easier for you and you are free to modify what I've done of course. -md

I reviewed your changes and I liked them, makes the file more readable, thanks for committing them! I merged them into the release_1_4 branch and into the MacPorts' port files directory.

New ticket for ReadMe.rtf and portfile.7 mods for MacPorts 1.4. The ReadMe.rtf is the same one attached to ticket #11010 so that one can be closed after commit.
