For instance, the libxslt Portfile contains:

​http://ftp.rpmfind.net/ is used by default, and this web site is very slow. It should be removed (or put at the end of the list).

In fact, the hostname has 3 IP addresses: 195.220.108.108 (mandril.creatis.insa-lyon.fr), 66.93.87.38 (rpmfind.speakeasy.net), 194.199.20.114 (mahe.inrialpes.fr), and the second one doesn't work (try ​http://66.93.87.38/ for instance). Using the real name is not guaranteed to work for HTTP connections (because there may be virtual domains), but here it seems to be OK. So, replacing ftp.rpmfind.net by mandril.creatis.insa-lyon.fr and mahe.inrialpes.fr could be a solution.

Note: I've noticed problems with ftp.rpmfind.net for several weeks. Though I'm not sure this is the same machine that is down, it is reasonable to think so.
