While trying to do a

port -d install postgresql82 +universal

I'm not sure why libiconv isn't building universal for you. It works fine for me. I'll have to look into it.

Axel.Rau: Are you on a PowerPC Mac or an Intel Mac? If a PowerPC Mac, then your bug is a duplicate of #12084. If an Intel Mac, please add a note to #12084 to indicate that it also happens on Intel.

lowello: your error messages are not the same so I'm inclined to call yours a separate issue. Were you doing "sudo port install libiconv" or "sudo port install libiconv +universal"? Please try again with +universal, and do "sudo port clean --work libiconv" and "sudo port selfupdate" first. If you are still unable to install libiconv +universal and you still get different error messages than Axel.Rau, please file a new bug (and don't forget to Cc it to me).
