#1381 closed defect (wontfix)

Add archive site to apache mirror list

Component: base Version: 1.0

Description

The Apache group only holds the latest release on their normal distribution servers. All the releases (including the latest) are held on their archive servers. Adding the archive server to the list of mirrors will prevent Apache ports from breaking when new releases are made.

Good suggestion, I've appended the archive site to the master_sites list.

oops, I hadn't seen there was an apache mirror_list......, one of the base commiters will have to commit the mirror_list patch

please see my commits regarding that :) I had the same thought and added it (even comitted it) but realized it won't work. The apache-portfile uses apache:httpd/ to descent into the correct directory. The archive sites needs httpd/old/ instead.

so, this won't buy us anything, or am I overlooking something?

Doesn't look like Apache provides old versions anymore, period. Closing.

Sorry, they do still keep them on server. But I'd prefer the Apache portfile just specify the archive server.
