Unfortunately the following checksum mismatch constantly occured:

I just tried this and the checksums matched. Run sudo port clean --dist expat and try again.

Agreed. Works for me too. Expat's livecheck wasn't working for me a day or two ago, but is now, so maybe there were some general server issues on their end that've been resolved now.
