Hello again
While installing ghemical in my imac 2 Ghz intel core duo running mac osx 10.5.2 I get the error ---> Configuring liboglappth Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure: shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_science_liboglappth/work/liboglappth-0.96" && ./configure --prefix=/opt/local " returned error 1 [cut] checking for glRenderMode in -lGL... no configure: error: GL library missing

Is this still an issue? I committed a fix in r37980. Please try the latest version with sudo port selfupdate and then sudo port install ghemical.
