The build breaks for me (see the attached log).

The attached build log does illustrate a bug, but it's in libgeotiff, not GDAL. I submitted a patch upstream. See also the fix: ​http://bugzilla.opendarwin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1651

(explanation: libgeotiff shouldn't be redefining CSVReadParseLine to gtCSVReadParseLine in a header it provides, and then not providing that function; the patch on incident 1651 fixes that)

yes, the patch to libgeotiff fixes this, the devel variant is the only one needing the patch (i compiles the default variant without), so i have moved the patchfiles key in the devel {} so it doesnt break the default variant.
