phonon-4.2.0_1 - activation conflict with qt4-mac

Description
When trying to activate phonon I get the following error:
---> Activating phonon Error: port activate failed: Image error: /opt/local/lib/pkgconfig/phonon.pc is being used by the active qt4-mac port. Please deactivate this port first, or use the -f flag to force the activation.
I currently have qt4-mac 4.4.3 installed.
It appears that this issue is acknowledged in #16131 but not addressed. Is there a way for these ports to coexist?

Not currently. I was told on the kde mailing list that, installing qt's phonon and kde's phonon is not supported. sooo, if you want both, force the installation with port -f
