xplanet: problem with clouds overlay

Description

I am using Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.11, with all updates that the automatic fetcher has found as of now (march 9, 2009). The two last versions of the xplanet port (1.2.0_2 and 1.2.0_3) do not display the clouds over the planet. The former version 1.2.0_1 does it properly, but sometimes the links are automatically restored to the newest version (how can that be?), so that I have to manually change this from time to time. Otherwise all my ports are activated at the newest version. Why doesn't the last version of xplanet overlay the clouds properly? Can it be fixed? Thanks, Antoine

I am not sure what we could do about the issue. It seems like it has something to do with the switch of the X11 client libs. Can somebody else confirm this issue on Leopard as well?

Is this still a problem with xplanet 1.2.2?

The current version no longer includes a clouds.jpg in the source tarball. You are apparently expected to supply your own. You can get a free one from http://xplanetclouds.com/free/ for example, which works fine for me.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
