Description

Unable to upgrade pcre +universal, on Mac OS X 10.5.6 Intel with Xcode 3.1.2: 

$ port installed pcre
The following ports are currently installed:
  pcre @7.8_1+universal (active)
$ port -ux upgrade pcre

I did not sufficiently test the universal configuration without the doc variant.
It should be fixe in r49175.
