I am aware that it has been integrated into gnome-utils. But that depends on gnome-desktop and other stuff I didn't need. So for now, I kept the old version around for my personal convenience.

I will look into making the port printing a message that gnome-utils should be used instead.

In that case, perhaps also print a message that this port is not necessary if it detects that gnome-utils is already installed. Maybe an explanation in the port description and/or rename port (baobab-standalone ?) to make the situation clearer.

My concern is the possibility of future tickets complaining that baobab and gnome-utils conflict with each other and the possibility/probability that this old source will fail to build against future versions of GNOME. Builds ok now although the current direction of GNOME development in unstable 2.27 is the removal of any dependencies on deprecated functionality which this port may depend upon.

Or since this port's source is not being updated now perhaps a private port would serve your personal needs?

Marked as deprecated in r53962, will now recommend gnome-utils instead.
