BUG: anjuta crashes on loading Verdana font

Description
I am having trouble with the anjuta port. I was able to install it and its dependancies, but run into the errors when I run anjuta from an xterm:

I was able to install and run Dia fine. I am running OS 10.3.4, the anjuta splash screen would appear, and stay until the last warning, at which point the program failed

this should be fixed with the lastest commit.
