Description

after a successful install of x.org, I'm trying to install gnome. I issued the command sudo ports install control-center. All was going well until the configuration of gtk2. When I got the following error message:

Something went wrong with your freetype/pango/xft2 installation. Try to check if they are installed.

Just to add - this is *not* a problem with control-center!

anders would you try and teel me which port you have install, and btw you should try to upgrade to the new gnome2.8.

closing this bug ... we dont have control-center 2.6 and the reporter hasnt reported any problems back.

It seems that I needed to build and install Xft2 before Pango. Once I did that I didn't encounter the error any longer.
