Port: help2man

Description (last modified by blb@…)

I am running XQuartz 2.4.0 (xorg-server 1.5.3-apple14), MacPorts 1.8.1, and XCode 3.1.4 on a MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running Mac OS 10.5.8.

I keep getting the following, when I try to install WINE:

--->  Computing dependencies for wine
--->  Staging help2man into destroot
Error: Target org.macports.destroot returned: shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textproc_help2man/work/help2man-1.36.4" && /usr/bin/make install DESTDIR=/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textproc_help2man/work/destroot " returned error 2

Duplicate of #16127. You have a file in /usr/local that is interfering with MacPorts and you should remove it, and ideally anything else you have in /usr/local, then clean help2man and try again.
