Gnuplot-4.2.5 Update to CVS Development Version

Reported by: sebastian@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.8.1
Keywords: Cc: pguyot (Paul Guyot)
Port: gnuplot-devel

Description

I modified the gnuplot-4.2.x Portfile to work with the latest CVS version of Gnuplot. This is important because many features are not available in the 4.2.x branch (e.g. zooming in 2D plots).

No replies, nobody is interested? That is a pitty. Is anyone actually using Gnuplot?

I don't know much about cvs, but won't this port take the latest version every time it is run? Does cvs have a tag that you can use to specify a version so everyone gets the same version?

For now the port-file takes automatically the latest version, but one could easily specify a specific version from a given date using the cvs.date command, see http://guide.macports.org/#reference.phases.fetch.cvs.

You are the submitter so we are waiting on you to post an updated portfile. As it is now, it won't be accepted.

Sorry, I did not understand that your comment was rather a requirement than a question. However, in the mean time the release of the next stable version is to be expected very soon (a RC is already available). I suggest to close this ticket and wait for the final release of 4.4. I will open a new ticket, if necessary.
