libpng 1.2.6rc1 fails to work w/ cvs version of freeciv

Description
I installed a nightly snapshot of DarwinPorts (08/29/2004) so that I can compile the CVS version of freeciv (I want to run the GTK1 version of the client). While there was no problems with the installation of DarwinPorts itself and the various ports that I need to compile, I had runtime problems where freeciv would crash when trying to process certain PNG graphics files.
As a workaround, I manually downloaded and compiled libpng 1.2.5 and installed it in /usr/local, and re-pointed the libpng* aliases in /opt/local/lib to corresponding files /usr/local/lib, recompiled, and the crash went away.
I looked around for a port file for libpng 1.2.5, but couldn't find it.
I am doing this on Panther w/ Xcode 1.2.

Yes, the crash no longer exists with the release version of libpng 1.2.6.
1.2.5 has serious security issues, so i updated the libpng port to 1.2.6rc1 - and has just updated the port to 1.2.6.
could you try updating?
