Can't selfupdate (as in Ticket #20559)

Tried to selfupdate from 1.8.2. Have OS X 10.6.4 and

Thanks for pointing this out. I've done some searching, but what does the error message mean/suggest? What action do you suggest? Thanks.

Filesystem corruption or failing hardware are two possibilities that immediately come to mind. Closing this ticket in any case, as there's no way our build system can work around that kind of brokenness in the build environment.

Thanks. Have verified filesystem, run hardware test, etc. No problems indicated, and no other (apparent) issues with this computer. Weird.
