Description
Emacs development version is now 22.0.50 instead of 21.3.50; the -devel (and thus -gtk and -carbon) variant is updated by this patch.
Also, should -carbon not conflict with -x11 ? From my reading of the port file this is not being done, but I could not find the way to do it in the online documentation.

Resolving since the emacs-devel port is at 22.0.50.1 and its carbon variant does have an explicit 'conflicts x11'.
