fontconfig website moved

Reported by: uthyr@… Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Schmidt)
Priority: High Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.9.2

Port: fontconfig

it appears that the website for fontconfig has moved/reorganized. The Portfile references the homepage of:, with a master site of:

these both redirect to: Yes, the 'release' link on that page points to this page as well.

The fetch portion of 'port install fontconfig' downloads two identical html web pages, and labels them 'arch.patch' and 'fontconfig-2.8.0.tar.gz'. I've manually downloaded the fontconfig-2.8.0.tar.gz file from the git repository on that site, with the intent to make a local port repository for this port, at least until the current Macports portfile is updated.

However, I don't have the ability to find the arch.patch file. So, requesting that the Portfile be updated to reflect the issues created by the version of the fontconfig page.

This has all been done in a fresh install of Macports 1.9.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.5.

thanks, Roy

I noticed this too and was about to file a ticket about it. Given that the download link is completely broken, I am assuming this is a temporary problem with the master site that'll be fixed soon (but perhaps the port will need to be updated when it does if the download location changes)

As a workaround you can download the file from the distfiles mirror: and put it in /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/fontconfig

You don't need to download the arch.patch file; it's part of the port.
