Description

I use macport install mysql-5 in mac snow leopard, after changging permision of mysql directory under var/run and var/db, I can run mysql_install_db, but I cannot change root password or run mysql_security, I log in mysql under skip-grant, I see mysql.user is empty-set. Is there anyway to fix that?

second question is, I use root run mysql, what user and group mysql use to access files.

Thanks
