The main.log you attached shows a successful build of mpfr. Please attach the main.log that shows the failure to compile gcc46.

Also, if you're really running MacPorts 1.9.1, please "sudo port selfupdate" to get 1.9.2.

    11Trying to build gcc46 +gfortran on Os X 10.4.11 on a G4 PowerPC with freshly updated Macports. I do not know whether this error is OS version specific. Xcode 2.5 (i.e. latest for Tiger) is installed on this system. main.log is attached.
