#30994 closed defect (fixed)

kile-devel @2.1b5 missing dependency on kate

Reported by: gleirsch@… Owned by: nicos_pavlov@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.0.1
Keywords: Cc:
Port: kile-devel

Description

Dependency to e.g. kate seems to be missing.

I installed kile-devel. When starting the application a pop-up tells me, that "no editor component is found". But the rest of the application seems to work fine.

After installing kate @4.7.0_1 the pop-up does not show up anymore and kile seems to be fully functional.

Thanks for porting so far.

Summary: kile-devel @2.1b5 (tex, kde, kde4)kile-devel @2.1b5 missing dependency on kate

Obfuscated email addresses don't work in the Cc field; you have to use the real address as shown by e.g. port info kile-devel.

Thanks, but would you please also add this hint to the ticket guide http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets?

Indeed, the dependency on kate appeared with KDE 4.7. It has been proposed to be added on ticket #30214, along with the update to stable version. However, as it takes a long time to have this ticket committed, we could as well add already kate dependency to avoid a broken port.

I don't have commit rights, so any person able to do it could add port:kate as a runtime dependency to solve this ticket.

Replying to gleirsch@…:

It's already there AFAICT: "For tickets on ports, enter the email address of the port's maintainer (use port info <portname> to find this)."

Ah, I only had a look onto the guidelines for the Cc: field as the Assigned to should not be filled out by normal users. Anyway, I am slowly getting comfortable with the ticket system.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
