Clearly it is trying to find wine_gecko 1.4 all over, and failing at every attempt. Wrong version? Wrong file name?

Thanks,

The file exists on all of those servers (except the svn.macports.org fallback location) so I would suspect something wrong with your network, or perhaps with your proxy setup. Are you able to download the file manually in a web browser for example from our primary mirror?

comment:2 Changed 12 years ago by dershow

Yes, I just tried to download in a web browser and it worked fine. Also, the messages above were from my second attempt to upgrade. The first attempt successfully grabbed wine-devel with and then had trouble with this particular file.

--->  Fetching archive for wine-devel
--->  Attempting to fetch wine-devel-1.3.33_0.darwin_10.i386.tgz from http://packages.macports.org/wine-devel

--->  Attempting to fetch wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi from http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/project/wine/Wine%20Gecko/1.4

I am not using a proxy, and I doubt that it is a network problem, because other upgrades, worked just fine.

Summary: wine-devel fetch failedwine-devel fetch failed on wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi

Interesting. It worked for me, of course, and for our distfiles mirror. Let's see if any more people Cc themselves on this issue. In the mean time, you can put the file you downloaded in /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/wine to let MacPorts continue the install.

OK. Now it gets even stranger. I downloaded it with a web browser. I then moved it: sudo mv /Users/dersh/Desktop/Downloads/wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/wine/. But now it gives me a checksum error:

--->  Computing dependencies for wine-devel
--->  Fetching wine-devel
--->  Verifying checksum(s) for wine-devel
Error: Checksum (rmd160) mismatch for wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi

The correct file has 14732288 bytes; how large is your file? What server did you download it from?

comment:6 Changed 12 years ago by dershow

In firefox I went to: http://distfiles.macports.org/wine/ and clicked on wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi but what downloaded is only 2.8k. I did open the file to make sure that it didn't contain an error message. And it looks like a small binary file. And I repeated the download with the same effect.

Could you attach the file here?

Wine_gecko from macports server

It looks like you got the first 2.8K of the file, but then the transfer interrupted for some reason. The file downloads fine for me from the same server. If this is happening consistently for you regardless which of the above servers you download from, then there's something strange about your network, perhaps specific to msi files.

Maybe fetching with curl at the command line would tell us more about what's going on. Try:

curl -O -v http://distfiles.macports.org/wine/wine_gecko-1.4-x86.msi

I am in the office. I have never seen it before, but I wonder if there is some firewall blocking msi file? I know that I have built wine and wine-devel at different times for years with no problem. I will try to build from another location to see if that changes anything.

comment:11 Changed 12 years ago by dershow

Turns out that Norton was blocking it. Strange that this was never a problem before, but it is now building.
