Hi,
Trying to upgrade Vala package I found that ftp.gnome.org does not contain *.bz2 package for it. I checked a few latest released packages at http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/ and found that they do not use *.bz2 format anymore. Instead they release sources in *.xz format only.
Are you going to include *.xz format to the list of searched filenames?

You can fetch and extract a xz distfile by adding
use_xz yesto the portfile, in place ofuse_bzip2.
