I emailed macports-mgr for commit access on March 13, but haven't heard back yet.

Sorry — I switched to homebrew (largely due to this port being out of date :-/ )
I will happily volunteer in the future if I switch back to MacPorts and a maintainer is still needed!

We would welcome you as maintainer of the port, if Jon no longer wants to maintain it and/or does not respond to this ticket.
Becoming a maintainer of several ports is a necessary first step before requesting commit access.
