#34497 closed enhancement (fixed)

"Universal" variant in gccXX ports should be changed to some other name

Description

As briefly discussed before, I suggest that the +universal variant used in conjunction with any gccXX port be renamed. Albeit it does not cause gcc itself to be build as a universal binary, it causes all required ports to do so, especially cctools, which is an obvious waste of time, power, and disk space. Changing "universal" to something else would not cause this side effect.
