cdrtools fails to build on Mountain Lion 10.8

When attempting to compile cdrtools under Mountain Lion, it throws the following error during compile:

--->  Computing dependencies for cdrtools.
Error: reinplace: sed: RE error: illegal byte sequence
Error: org.macports.patch for port cdrtools returned: reinplace sed(1) failed
Warning: targets not executed for cdrtools: org.macports.activate org.macports.patch org.macports.configure org.macports.build org.macports.destroot org.macports.install

I attempted installing the gsed port to see if I could get around this error, but to no avail.

I've attached the log referenced in the error.
