python27: extract failed

I have been trying to install ghostscript . To do that I have installed: MacPorts & Xcode_4.4.1_6938145 (from apple developer site). I am not a computer experts so I am using PortAuthority to do this. The process has been running fine until the installation of python27. I have read and tried all the suggested remedies in MacPort "Problem Hotlist" by applying the commands through my terminal. Just now I have tried to "re-install" with PortAuthority but it is not successful and I get the following report:

Please clean python27 and try again. (At the terminal run "sudo port clean python27", or perform the equivalent action in PortAuthority.) If it fails again, attach the main.log file so we can see what went wrong.
