#36589 closed defect (fixed)

qemu emulation does not work on Mountain Lion

Reported by: gnn@… Owned by: macports-tickets@…
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.1.2
Keywords: mountainlion Cc:
Port: qemu

Description

Using the gcc compiler, as pointed out in another ticket, you can build qemu but none of the emulations work under Mountain Lion (10.8). In both vga and console mode the OS to be emulated is loaded and then the program uses up CPU in an infinite loop.

Replying to gnn@…:

Using the gcc compiler

There is no gcc compiler in Mountain Lion. Did you mean the llvm-gcc compiler (to which /usr/bin/gcc is a symlink on Mountain Lion?)

This should be fixed as of qemu @1.3.0_0.
