Grass wxpython gui won't start

When launching GRASS, the starting window to select the map works fine. However, once the location has been chosen, wxpython gui fails to start. It throws the following error:

• ​http://trac.osgeo.org/grass/changeset/51052 which didn't do that and apparently left other errors (​http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/grass-user/2012-March/063914.html), but the change is probably included in version 6.4.3 and it might be worth updating anyway

I'm moving the discussion to another ticket about compatibility with wxWidgets 3.0, #42161.

(I couldn't call the problem fixed, but now that grass defaults to using wxWidgets 2.8, this is no longer a problem on its own.)
