Build of xfig fails in 32 bit Macports environment

Description
After all dependencies required for xfig are successfully installed and activated, then xfig build fails. Log file attached. System is 32 bit (i386 selected in macports.conf).

This is not surprising since xfig is using the ancient xmkmf build system.

Are you sure your system is 32-bit and not just your build_arch?

This should only occur if his system is 64-bit but he has set build_arch to i386, or more generally, if build_arch is not set to the default for a particular system. The problem is xfig's xmkmf build system does not use build_arch, so we would have to patch it in manually.
