no problem - getting it done is the first priority (and I've a lot of things on my to-do list). Generally what I've been doing the past few years with packaging is to setup something on my own machines that builds the port (starting with files that I bundle in the upstream sources). Most are Linux, but I've a few that do FreeBSD and Solaris.

Thomas, thanks for volunteering to create this port. I didn't mean to take that opportunity away from you but I was already almost finished, and I've committed in r105971. Hopefully looking it over will give you some idea of how ports are made. If you'd like to be added as a co-maintainer, or take over maintenance entirely, let me know.
