Another problem since upgrading to squid3. The child process crashes and restarts with the following messages.

Crash report is attached. I searched the web for similar problem reports, but none had any solutions or explanation of what is happening.

You probably need to take this ​upstream; I doubt I'll be able to fix it in the port.

Do you still see this with the current version? If so, did you ever open a bug upstream?
