Also, it would be good to:

  • move to the unified python portgroup done in r125823;
  • review whether setuptools is used at runtime and change it to depends_build if not done in r125823;
  • use the github portgroup in order to fetch a distfile rather than using git;
  • fix livecheck.

The package would be available at ​PyPI as well.

Current version is 1.9, license is "public domain" (unlicensed) now.

Note: The PyPI and the Github release distfiles yield different checksums!

r126921 updates to 1.9. It provides further changes:

  • switch to Github port group
  • update license and category
  • adds py27 subport
