POVRAY is the Persistence of Vision Ray Tracer. It can be found at
http://www.povray.org. They have some old licensing issues that prevent it being
GPL or any other free license, but you can use it, and get the source, and
modify it for your own use. It sounds like the Patch file distributed with this
which is needed to fix its VERY broken build system should be okay.
I'm not an automake/autoconf guru, and have basically hacked the src/Makefile.in
file to get it to do the right thing(tm). Thanks to some guys on #debian-devel
(including the debian maintainter pasc) for some help with this. Apparently we
shouldn't even try getting povray to go on 64bit (pasc says it makes some nasty
assumptions about the size of longs).
