The line that sets the CC variable should not be removed. It's still needed, to tell the port to build UsingTheRightCompiler and -arch flags. The Makefile needs to be patched to accept this variable. I've filed an upstream bug report about that: ​https://github.com/fletcher/MultiMarkdown-4/issues/13

The repository includes a README and LICENSE file so we can install those as documentation files.
