I'd put the dlcompat dependency in a darwin variant, as it isn't needed (and won't work) on other platforms.
I'd use configure.args-append in the mysql and postgres variants so that both could be used at the same time successfully also depends_lib-append should be used in the variants, or you over-write the original deps
you could also use depends_lib bin:apxs:apache rather than path (assuming apxs is in the path) however that wouldn't let you make sure it was ports apache you were using, so I'm not certain you want that.
