Volunteer as maintainer

I would like to volunteer to maintain the following unmaintained ports:

• dosbox
• hatari

Also, the following ports are also outdated, and I would be willing to take them on as well if the current maintainers do not wish to continue:

• atari800
• cc65

In r123538 I added openmaintainer to dosbox. For hatari this was already done with r110747.

The maintainers of atari800 and cc65 have not reacted to this ticket so far.

• krischik@ owns some unacknowledged tickets and there is ticket #37284 requesting an update of atari800, so it is probably fair to assume that krischik@ is not active any more.
  UPDATE: krischik has recent activity on other ports, so he is still active
• trashgod@ replied to cc65 related ticket #40143, but the ticket is still open after 12 month.

In any case, if you want update to cc65 or atari800, just provide patches and compile update tickets as usual. Maybe leave a note here and do not duplicate #37284 just attach your patch there. If the current maintainer do not reply, these will be committed using maintainer timeout. You could also compile 'port abandoned' against the two ports.

Can we close this ticket? The maintainers of atari800 and cc65 never accepted co-maintainership. I guess it is not appropriate to add a new maintainer here, at least as long as these ports are not considered abandoned.

I'd rather follow the port abandonment policy, because this ticket hasn't been acknowledged by the maintainers for months. Closing this ticket just hides the evidence that the maintainers are inactive.

@trashgod You cannot do it yourself. Just leave a comment with the respective ticket, which makes clear what should be done about it. You may also indicate what is the resolution state.

Currently, the cc65 port is not openmaintainer. We highly encourage non-committers to add it. Otherwise, even trivial changes can take quite long. Can I add it?

trashgod@ accepted openmaintainer for cc65 in ticket #45288. I understand the comments that james@ could be added as well. James are you still interested to co-maintain the cc65 port?

If trashgod@ is still going to maintain cc65, then that's great and I don't need to go in the way. I'm really only interested in helping out where help is needed, so put me where you can use me best. Thanks.

James, thanks for your reply. So I will keep the cc65 as it is now (with openmaintainer). You are free to submit patches to any port anyway.

The atari800 is still pending. If there is no reply from the current maintainer soon, I will pass maintainership to you.
