Error: org.macports.build for port octave-statistics returned: command execution failed

I successfully installed octave, and then attempted to install octave-statistics. However, the build failed. (I have found octave to be quite unstable -- uninstalling and installing several times over the years.) The log output for the failed installation of octave-statistics follows. Thank you, Silvio.

There are 2 other tickets about octave-statistics, which have been open for a long time, and the port has no maintainer. Sorry.

I am seeing the exact same error on Mountain Lion with octave-io, octave-plot, and octave-general. I assume it affects all 'octave-' ports.

I've updated versions to latest available at octave forge. That did the trick for me
