installing apple-gcc42 failed

Just moved to mavericks. Uninstalled MacPorts, reinstall it from fresh. While trying to install gnu prolog one of the dependencies named apple-gcc42 fails The log file is attached. In addition this is what is printed on the shell

Apparently as part of Mavericks update the command line tools of Xcode were not functioning, in spite that it was set using the menu option within Xcode using the old way of

xcode-select --install

in the shell solved the issue It might be worthwhile to leave this comment for a while. I'm certain that yehuda
