Description
I'm attaching the patch with the changes I would like to see in the Portfile. In the long run I would actually like to see upstream to be fixed in such a way that it would allow specifying which wx-config to use rather than hardcoding it all over the place.

Whooops, sorry, I see that I submitted a duplicate ticket (#40768) myself. But the other ticket is kind-of ready for a maintainer timeout.

I just did. If you happen to experience any problem with my patch please let me know. I'm ready to help you should any modifications be needed. Please also try to request the upstream changes. The best way is to include (a copy of) wxwin.m4 in the project sources and let autoconf include that one.
