When upgrading alliance with macports on Mac10.6 with gcc 4.2.1 the installation fails with message 

Error: org.macports.build for port alliance returned: command execution failed

I am trying to update alliance to the latest version 5.0-20120515 to see if it solves this problem but am running into other problems. I can't find a bug tracker for that project so I'm trying to report them to their mailing list: ​https://www-asim.lip6.fr/wws/arc/alliance-users/2014-01/msg00000.html
