Sorry for the late reply. I can't seem to produce this error but it seems to be related to a a version of texinfo >5.0. I can apply a patch but wonder if it's worth it since this version of fftw is no longer developed. Is there a particular reason you need fftw 2?

Don't worry about it, I uninstalled fftw. It was long time I didn't switch on my mac and I wanted to upgrade some suffs, but actually I don't know what fftw was needed for!

I have experienced the same problem. fftw is currently a recommended package for the Einstein Toolkit (einsteintoolkit.org); I can check to see if it is absolutely essential; I think we can use fftw3 instead. However, if the port doesn't work, and isn't going to be fixed, it should probably be officially removed?

Heh, I always wondered what had happened to Cactus. Now, I know. Anyway, yes, I would love to move users of fftw to fftw3 which I think I will do soon unless there are major objections.

I'll work on replacing fftw by fftw3 once I figure out this yorick-yeti dependency.
