I think this one is my fault. It's fixed in r120382, but won't be shipped until the next MacPorts release.

Meanwhile, you can manually apply the patch from r120382 in /opt/local/libexec/macports/lib/macports1.0/macports.tcl.

Merged into the MacPorts 2.3 branch in r120383.
