Description
dcmtk uses a 3.6.1 snapshot on Mavericks and above, but it's from last year. Perhaps it could be updated to the current snapshot, 3.6.1_20140617.

Thanks; I had this (and some additional changes) in process but have been busy. I was debating moving everyone over to this version; it can also have dynamic rather than static libraries. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery pro/con?

From the standpoint that it's unusual to have a port's version vary based on any criteria, I'm in favor of using the same version everywhere. Are the developers by any chance close to releasing a new stable version?

I added a dependency on libiconv because dcmtk seems to use it. See #38919.
