This upgrade keeps failing for me.

I did try cleaning gdal, just to make sure that a file wasn't left over. All I have installed right now is gdal @1.11.0_1 +expat, which is active, and was installed as a dependent of something else.

Sorry, but I do not really understand you issue. To me it looks like you have a problem with the port gdal not with py-gdal. If this is the case, you'd better file a new ticket against gdal, please follow the guidelines of for ticket submission and attach a complete main.log.

Ooops. Yes, it should be gdal, not py-gdal.

Okay, it looks like vince just updated the gdal port to 1.11.1. Apparently, it got broken at this occasion. gdal is a dependency of py-gdal so you might have run into the bug, when updating py-gdal.

Anyway, I'd assume this will get fixed pretty soon. But, a ticket from you side won't hurt. ;-)
